LYNAS: THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

What happen to Lynas? Have you got correct and precisely information without any boundaries? Its really ashamed if you rely too much to mass media because they cover-up too much until we got only debris of information. Now I will share correct information will little school leaver research standard.

This is summary for Lynas earth plant:
Introduction
1.       Lynas factory has been 95% set up at Gebeng, Kuantan. It accumulate of 140 football field / 100 hectares land. It located by Polyplastic and 1st Phase Palm Oil Industry Cluster Project. In front of   Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM) close to BASF Petronas Chemicals. Written at signboard LAMPSON or Lynas Advanced Material Plant (LAMP) between Lynas Malaysia Sdn Bhd and UGL Resources.
2.       UGL Resources is a main company located at Australia. This company involved in asset management and project employed 42,000 workers. They were given a contract for Development and Management Lynas, Gebeng,Kuantan on 22/2/2010. The administrative cost for this project around RM 9.86billion. UGL Resources responsible for engineering design management of Lynas Plant. Estimate RM700billion for infrastructure cost.
3.       100% own by Lynas Australia
4.       Finished on September 2011. Previously estimate on March 2011
5.       Development License given on 2008.
6.       Career opportunity only for 350 people.
7.       Will produced 22 thousand tonne   'rare earth oxide ' per year.
8.       Export value estimate around RM8billion /yr.
9.       Free tax for 12 years
10.   China was major supplier for “rare earth” in the world which is 95%. Probably, decreasing export of rare earth of China from 72% to 37% on 2011.
11.   1 tonne = RM 364,800.00
12.   Major customer are from Japan,US and Europe for Advanced Technology industry (High performance Magnet) such as Fiber  Optic Cable, LCD Monitor, Computer, Lens, Bulb, Smartphone, Military gadget and Hybrid Car.
13.   Lynas will be expected become 3rd suppliers of “rare earth” in the world after 2 years operation.
Be aware of radioactive of Thorium
Chapter 1: How to produce “Rare Earth” ?

1.       Ore was mined from Mount Weld Australia

2.       Next, ore was dry-out and undergo differentiation process. Now, rare earth concentrated was produced.

3.       In Gebeng, Kuantan, next process is producing “rare earth compound” which is undergo chemical treatment for the next process.

4.       After that, “rare earth compound” will be process by using different composition of chemical reagent according their type.  Whatever light or heavy for producing “rare earth oxidase” next it will be export to manufacturing factory.

5.       Manufacturing company of advance technology product “rare earth oxidase” will undergo a process called “solvent extraction” to produce “rare earth metal” which is can be used directly or combine with other material to yield high technology product.

6.       “rare earth ore” which mined at Mount Weld contains few main minerals which is monazite. Monazite is a radioactive material. In monazite it contains thorium, cerium and lanthanum.

Monazite rich with thorium and thorium is highly radioactive and can be used as uranium to produce nuclear power.

Rare earth concentrate which is imported from Australia for processed at Gebeng, Kuantan contains 0.0029% Uranium and 0.16% Thorium for every metric tonnes.
Imported “rare earth concentrate” will be processed to yield “rare earth oxide” at Gebeng, Kuantan. Lynas’s CEO commented “Thorium based on ratio 55:10,000 metric ton and 22 thousand tonnes/year “rare earth oxide” that will be produced from Lynas factory or LAMP at Gebeng,Kuantan.  Estimated 121 metric tonnes thorium waste will be produced per year.

Evironment Protection Agency (EPA) of United States reported information regarding Thorium and its effect to human and environment as following: 

1. Thorium -232 have 14 billion (14x109) years lifetime.
2. Thorium-230 and Thorium-228 can withstand for 75,4000 years.
3. Thorium pollution may be spread by water and air.
4. Those that live close to this kind of factory that producing Thorium maybe expose with Thorium side effect.
5. Human may be infected / exposed by thorium by inhaled air, foods and water.
6. Inhaled thorium by air will remains for long at respiratory tract. Thorium will be diffusing into blood and remain in bone for long time.
7. Throat cancer, bone cancer and pancreas cancer may be occur due to inhaled Thorium waste.

tapi yg peliknye ade je yg menyokong lynas ni.xsyg nyawa agaknye.nak je suruh yg menyokong 2 buat umah duduk sebelah kilang 2.nak tnggu mcm ape yg jadi kat jepun baru nak sedar kot.=(
